THE BATTLE OF VIENNA EXACTLY 341 YEARS AGO

Have you heard of the “9/11” Bättle of Vienna [11-12 September 1683] and the charge of the Polish cavalry?
Do you also know that 12 September is the Feast of the Holy Name of Mary in the Catholic Church? Do you know its connection with that war?
Of course, you know that the attack on America in 2001 took place on the same date, September 11? Do you think that the choice of that date was a mere coincidence?
Between 11th and 12th September 1683, the cavalry of Poland and the Holy Roman Empire saved Christian Europe against the Othomann Turks.
As the bättle was going on, the celebration of Holy Masses and praying of the Holy Rosary were going on as well. The invaders were stopped.
One of the reasons Othoman Turks struck was that the division brought by the Protestant Reformation of Luther weakened the Christian defence architecture.
Thus, Catholic Christianity saw itself fighting, now, on two fronts, first against the Muslims and secondly against its own brothers and sisters, the Protestants.
Do you see why it is wise to suspend every difference and never allow any religious fire or division to survive in times of insurgencies and insecurity?
In gratitude to God for this triumph, Pope Innocent XI instituted the Feast of the Holy Name of Mary to be celebrated annually on September 12th.
I request Catholics who would like to post about the Holy Name of Mary tomorrow to use picture of Mary with an African outlook, like this one here. If you like leave post and start fīght.
