Oyibo does not joke with his tradition and culture. In fact, that is the reason why Christianity will hardly dīe in Europe. For many Europeans, Christianity has become a culture and thus must be protected.
For any cherished value to endure, you have to make it part of the culture. For a culture to last, it has to be meaningful. For it to be meaningful, it has to be rooted in one’s environment and history.
This is why it is necessary that we build our religious, political, educational, economic, etc. edifices on the achievements already made by our forebears so that we can grow organically and meaningfully.
Culture should be constantly pruned to avoid abuse. It should not be uprooted. No culture is perfect or can be made perfect. I mean none.
When new cultures are acquired for whatever reason, let them rest on the already existing ones. I mean on the ones handed over from generation to generation.
Never joke with your cultural heritage if you do not want to remain a perpetual slăve to those you will use their culture to replace yours, or unless you do not want to remain a perpetual consumer who contributes nothing to the World’s advancement.
