Erwin Teufel, a successful political leader, was once Minister-President of Baden-Württemberg Germany. His surname “Teufel” means “děvil.”
Despite this meaning, many people use it as a surname in Germany. One of the most successful German artists has also Teufel [devïl] as surname.
It has never happened that someone’s first or last name has prevented them from succeeding.
What hinders success is the socioeconomic circumstances of the environment that one finds himself or herself, a poor state of health, a poor character or a bad circle; never a name.
Even during the missionary era in Nïgeria, it was unthinkable that surnames would be associated with failure or success.
But with the rise of Mammon Christianity, also called the Prosperity Gospel, the floodgates opened to spiritual maadness.
People began to see their names as the cause of their backwardness.
Funnily enough, after changing their names, they realized that nothing had changed because their problems had nothing to do with their names.
