THE SON/DAUGHTER OR THE HOUSE SLAVE?

If you enter any home and you see a young person who is very curious, who asks questions about everything that he or she does not understand and wants to know the details of everything, know that he or she is a son or daughter of the house.
But if you see the one who asks no questions but quickly responds to every command, even the ones he or she does not understand, know that he or she is the slave of the house.
Remember, I used the word “slave”, not “house-help” or even “servant”, because there are house-helps or servants who are treated as sons and daughters of the house. Not every house-help or servant is a slave.
In this life, if you are one of those who feel that they do not deserve to know everything, issues that concern them, or things they do, you are simply presenting yourself as a slave to life.
Why should you choose to be a slave in a free world where many others are sons and daughters? Who is stopping you from becoming the son or daughter of the world? Who made you a slave and made others sons and daughters in a free world?
In anything you do, never let anyone bring you to the level of a slave, especially when you are in your own home. Do not allow anyone to strip you of your self-esteem and dignity.
Be proud of yourself. Being proud does not mean being arrogant. Check the meaning of the two words in your dictionary.
Be humble, but do not look down on yourself. If you do, others will march on you without the feelings that they are doing anything evil.
No one is more human than the other.
Don’t stop asking questions. Stop swallowing things you do not know or understand. No real son or daughter does that.
Do not feel that there is anything you do not deserve to know until the last details. Do not feel that there are things you must swallow even when you don’t like them. Any day you begin to feel so, you have told yourself who you are: a slave of life.
