When we ask God to deliver or protect us from evils, we are simply asking him to assist us as we solve our problems by ourselves.
When we are sick, surrounded by land grabbers, in a just war, or going through any difficulty, we do not fold our hands and expect a miraculous delivery.
We rather help ourselves by ourselves. As believers, when we do that, we ask God to assist us.
After an accident that claimed the lives of all passengers except yours. Do not think that it was any spirit who saved you and allowed the rest to die.
You were just lucky. You may not be lucky if you get involved in such a misfortune the next time.
Heaven helps but only those who help themselves.
