WHERE THEN DOES GOD COME IN?

The question that many would be asking is: if our material success depends on our ability to harness our talents, resources, and spirit of teamwork, where then does God come in, or what then is the essence of belief in God?
Such a question could be like a secondary school-age child from a rich home asking, If my parents want me after school to go bring out the soup from the refrigerator, warm it, and prepare the garri, what then is the essence of having parents?
Until such a child realises what street children without homes or parents go through, he or she will understand.
I cannot, however, pretend not to know why most African religious believers believe in certain junks that are injurious to their lives, faith, and society.
The Pentecostal hurricane and tsunami that blew unchecked across Africa, especially from the 1970s, was not a blessing to the continent.
The reason why many Africans fell for it was simple: it appeared to suit our religious desires and yearnings.
It is time to return the brain to factory settings so that it can begin to function the way it was designed by its maker.
It is time to detoxify our minds. It is time to unlearn in order to learn.
There is no known human material problem that was resolved by any spirit. Any material problem you are encountering today is waiting for you not to cast and bind but to solve it through your God-given abilities and resources. The highest among them is teamwork.
As believers, from time to time, we thank God for these gifts. We also ask him to be with us as we solve our problems by ourselves.
