THE CHURCH AND THE SCHOOL

No sooner was the church established than it became clear to church members how indispensable the school is for a meaningful internalization of the gospel principles. Thus, from the earliest times, the Church and the school went hand in hand.

When the church tells us the need to develop and deepen our relationship with God, the school teaches us the need to switch on our brains, reason and common sense while doing so. When the school teaches us the way to economic success, the church reminds us of the need to develop our consciences.

When the school teaches us the steps to achieve greatness, the church reminds us of the need to be humble despite our achievements. When the school teaches us the principles of character, the church reminds us of the importance of forgiveness. When the school teaches us the principles of teamwork, the church reminds us the virtue of tolerance.

In fact, the school places the nails while the church hammers on them. As the school tightens the knots, the church offers the lubrication oil. As you build your church, remember to build your school. Before you dedicate your church make sure you have equipped your school.
