WE ONCE LIVED IN PARADISE

I am talking of the time when every child played with other children in his or her neighborhood without fear of discrimination.
This was a time when there were no private schools.
I am talking of a time when no one sank a private borehole because government pipe-borne water was functional.
This was a time when every child belonged to every home and when every child was under the tutelage, protection, and care of every adult.
I am talking of the time when every adult had the moral duty to discipline any child he or she saw doing anything wrongly.
I am talking of a time when no one could make any distinction between the children of the poor and of the rich when they played.
II was a time when no one’s dreams haunted him or her when he or she woke up.
I am talking of a time when it was unheard of that anyone was being molested by a spiritual husband or wife.
I am talking of the time when everyone was happy to associate with his or her village people.
I am talking of the time when it was normal to make business contracts and agreements without pen and paper and without any witness.
I am talking of a time when no parent will allow his or her child to take what does not belong to him or her.
I mean, a time when many doors had no real locks. And there was hardly any house that was fenced.
Unless we make a u-turn now, we may be doomed forever. To return to the track, we need to return our brains to factory settings.
